Question Want to restore the FD seats. Is there a kit?

I bought some aftermarket seats, but they aren't as comfortable as the touring seats so I want to restore the touring seats. They are not only in rough shape, they are ugly and don't go with the car since I've made the interior black. The padding needs to be replaced in the driver's seat, and both seats' leather is cracked all over. I want to make them black instead of tan. By the way, 5 pt harness seats are great to sit in while playing xbox, especially reclined a little.

catskin or however you spell it had some nice ones. Don't bother with Mazda leather. Even if you can get it still, it is poor quality and insanely expensive. Leatherseats.com used to be another one I believe.

leatherseats.com has had a couple of group buys on here. I used them and am very pleased.

It seems like you just want a better condition seat with all the complaining about the padding and stuff. I don't think just restoring the leather wouldnt change the feeling much. I would look for nice suede or cloth seats or something. They are much more durable than the leather and you would have seats that should feel newer to.

I think it's www.katzkin.com/main.html. But it looks like they don't have a specific kit pre-made for RX-7, at least it wasn't available on the drop down box.

Katzskin.com looks like it might be available for sale though!

I got mine from autoseatskins.com. They are an authorized Katzkin dealer. they are very helpful. Tons of options to choose from, I did two tone black/tan myself. You could do suede centers, embroidery on the seat, colored stitching, whatever. I took my seats to an upholstery guy as well because the padding was beat to hell. they turned out pretty damn nice I must say.

rx7.com also has seat 'covers' as they call them but they are cheaper then leatherseats.com and autoseatskins.com. no comment on quality.
