each of the 16 pieces has about 4 - 6 scew holes ( front fenders, bonnet, boot are replaced completely and they screw onto original holes ) as for the sides you need to make a couple extra holes onto the exsisting body backed up with urethane

p.s what do you think of gun metal with black for color?

No, it will look horrible! Just kidding, that is what I am thinking about painting mine. At one point in addition to a black center, I have considered painting the kit with the sunset orange they put on the new 'Vettes. It's pretty eye catching yet not too bright:

Then again black and a dark grey like gunmetal would look cold and machine-like which I like a lot.

xeroes 06-07-07 11:01 PM

ill be the guinea pig for gun metal i guess, if it looks like shit you wont have a hard time deciding what color to paint yours =D.
when is your kit arriving?

Hi Ejay , if your reading this , could you possibly work your magic with photo shop and turn this into a gun metal grey with black =D , (if you could possibly do a similar gun metal as the s15 pic attached)

again thanks for doing the blue/black pic earlier

You going with a metallic paint? I am trying to decide between a metallic or a "pearl".

EJayCe996 06-08-07 03:33 PM

Ignore those small green highlights, I usually mix the coloring myself to get an even tone but that color was a little hard to mix so i pulled it directly from the example car's dark side (as I assumed this was the color you were looking for) and it didn't blend evenly over the car. But its alright to get the "gist" of it.

callsign vega, what about this color @_@? (tungsten silver)

now i need to bribe a car yard salesman to let me browse at the color code :uhh:

Callsign_Vega 06-08-07 10:09 PM

That's quite nice, you could most likely find the color code on the net. I personally am going to go a little darker. I really like the Galaxy Grey metallic on my daily driver; a 2007 Mazda3. Pics a little small though:

I like metallics for lighter colors, like arctic silver or something along those lines if it's going to be grayscale. Metallics don't pop as much as you'd think they do on darker colors. Pearl, on the other hand, adds that glow to it that you get when you're under streetlights or florescent lights. The right pearl formula will take your breath away.

why does that porsche remind me so much of the 67 shelby fastback... =/

wptrx7 06-10-07 11:41 AM

Porsche?

TT_Rotary 06-10-07 11:43 AM

yea, just look at the front, and the back, disregard the headlights of course.. and just focus on the body itself.. reminds so much of the "gone in 60 seconds" car. Ellynore.
