terrible whining noise after battery relocation
 

i did a battery relocation and after i did it every time i have my stereo on my front speakers give off this terrible whining noise and when i accelerate it gets louder is it the emp from the power wires going to the trunk for the battery? but i don't get any whining noise out out my subs

what do you mean check it?

you need a better ground.

The ground is loose on the connection point, or you need a bigger gauge wire.

Sounds like your running an amp, correct?

If you are, then it sounds like the RCAs are crossing something and picking up alternator noise through the power wire.

Are you running the RCAs near the power wire from the engine bay to the battery? If so that would be the problem. I would make sure I have a good set of shielded RCAs and then run them on the opposite side of the car as the power wire. If they absolutly have to cross, only run them perpindicular to, but never parellel with the power/ground.

Also keep the signal wires away from the amp power wires.

Maybe try RCA filters or RCA signal boosters if that doesn't help.

If that isn't the problem, hell if I know.

you have a bad ground wire connect, what you need to do is scratch some of the paint off because the paint will cause the ground to not make a good connection, so take a screw driver and scrapp off the paint and then drill your whole that should work for you

Simply scraping it with a screwdriver isn't going to do it im afraid - unless you get rid of ALL the paint, theres going to be a thickness of paint between the conector and the bodywork.

So after sanding the bodywork back to bare metal, put a big smear of graphite paste/gease around the bolt hole, fix in the ground cable, and give it a good covering of graphite paste/grease ;)

But just so it doesnt get worn off onto the underside of your carpet - cover the point of connection (and that paste!) in gaffa-tape
