Stereo Question
 

I am at cruchfield right know and i want to buy Component speakers that come with crossovers tweeters and the woofer will i have to buy two, one for the frot and then one back(tower) then i would have 4 crossovers and then 4 tweeter which i dont need or would i have to deal with it and then sell the tweeters it seems they dont sell them seperately(speakers) so let me know if you guys can help

Most component sets include 2 woofers, 2 tweeters, and 2 crossovers per set. So to have a set for the front and front for the back you need to buy 2 component sets. A REALLY good choice is the CDT's from www.thezeb.com. I'd go with those up front and a set of coaxials in back. The CDT 6.5s are only $50 shipped from thezeb too. Thats my setup in my explorer.

you will only have to buy one component set(front) the back you don't have to use seperates at the shock tower just regular two or three way coaxial speakers or you can go with one 8 inch subwoofer in each tower.I've heard this set up before and it sounds nice.Your not going to win any sound cometitions bet it still sound very nice and its very stealth type system.oh and by the way the 8 inch woofers should fit perfectly.:)

You can go online and find alot of places with good prices better than cf.first I would get a good 200 watt amp for the front seperates then maybe a 300 watt for the bass.Remember that when looking at the amps wattage the most important this to look at its rms wattage, don't ever look for its max power.Max power on amps are just for short bursts of power.Go to circuit city.com and you can find a decent set of amps from Mtx or Alpine.The seperates are also not badly priced either.

i went to circuit city didnt have any alpine head units available

For the best SQ setup, you dont want ANY rear speakers (they mess up the soundstage)

Get the biggest components you can afford/fit. 6.5" ones are good choice. Fit these in kickbuilds, and "aim" the mids to be at head-level, between the driver and pasenger. Position the tweets with blue-tack or something so you can move them about until you can find the optimum position.

Fit a 10" sub in a sealed box in the boot, and you'll be hard-pushed to beat that setup for SQ!!!! And If you want more bass, then fit two 10" subs in the boot - or have a 12" sub thats switchable

oh yeah, and the setup I'm using is afair bit more expensive, I cant remember the names of the parts, but the front components are around £450 (UK pounds, not euros or dollars!) the HU was £230, the amp is £680, and the sub is £220

so thats around US$2300
