Steering Wheel Size: How Small is too Small?

Hi,

First off I need to know if I'm correct in assuming the stock steering wheel is 380mm? That's the number I've come across and just want to confirm.

Now, I'm deciding between purchasing a 350mm or 330mm wheel. I just want some input from the other members as to what would be preferrable?

Is the 350mm wheel a large enough decrease in size to be noticeable? Would the 330mm wheel be too small in that it would block my gauge cluster substantially?

I'm looking to purchase very soon and trying to figure out what I need.

TIA,
Rizwan

i do believe the stock wheel is 380
i have a momo 350mm wheel and its great......it feel like it adds handling characteristics to the car........and i think most of the momo wheels are 350mm......it will block the cluster slightly but u just have to adjust your seating position a bit..

Adding a spacer to the wheel (or getting one with a deeper offset) will help with the visibility, can make for a much more comfortable driving position for larger people like me, and will give you more knee room. I've used my Momo Mod 78 wheel (practically flat, 350mm) with no spacer, with a 1" spacer and with a 2.5" quick release and I like it best with the quick release in terms of driving position, but I still loose a little bit of the gauges. It makes activating the turn signals a little harder, as they're farther away, so you have to reach farther for them, not that big a deal though, you get used to it.

Stick with 350mm. 330mm looks out of place and is too small cutting view to upper digits on the dash.

I have a 330, it does suit the car to be honest but as already said I can't see the top of most of the gauges or things like the indicator lights and stuff.

You think it would possible to post a picture? Preferrably of exactly how it looks when you're actually seated in the FD.

I'm probably going with the 350mm, but I just want to be sure...

I'll be installing a 320mm steering wheel in the next week or so (depending on how smooth the engine goes in). I'll snap a few pics when its in. I'll also take a few pictures of both wheels outside the car so people can see the size difference.

For me, I never look at my gauges when I'm on the track. If the steering wheel does block anything, it would only bother me on the streets. However, I rarely the drive the car on the streets.

I have a 330 nardi on my car. It does kinda block the turn signal indicators but its not a big deal to me.

That doesn't look bad at all. I thought it would cover up a LOT more of the gauges based on what others have been saying...

I also PM'd you. I have a few questions. Thanks!

Here is a comparison of a 330 nardi and a 350 w/ a works bell hub and NRG quick release. I took the picture from about the area where my eyes would look at it from. (the last pic was lower) I am about 6ft ish. Sorry shitty cell phone pics and my car is a mess at the moment....

/\ Yeah, I guess I'm getting my friend's wheel then. He bought an ebay mugen wheel for his prelude, but never put it on, and sold the car. I', gonna just buy an adapter for it and take out the thing that says "mugen" in the center. :D

Cant argue with free stuff!
