Spray Paint Experts?
I painted my kick panels because they were a little scratched up. I got a gloss black though and I don't like how it looks. How can I remove the paint? I just want it all to chip off. I've gotten some areas to do it by flexing the panels.
Thanks! |
Did you try using a matte clear over the gloss? Or do you just not like the paint.

I just don't like the paint : (
Would like to go back to the original finish. So I want the paint off without harming what's underneath so sanding etc is out. |
Use some plastic friendly stripper (brake cleaner might work as well as B-12 chem tool/carb cleaner). If nothing else, try peeling it off with your fingernails or something. If its an enamel this should work well, but be time consuming. Hope I've helped.

pick up some laquer thinner at wallmart. Its $3-4, and will wipe it right off.
|
I second the laquer thinner.
|
Thinner should work if it was a laquer rattle can paint that you used. It could damage the plastic so I would try it on the back side first. Work quickly and it should work. I would try thinner first. If it doesn't work, SEM makes a product called bumper stripper. It comes in a spray can and works really well. It too can damage some plastics so make sure you try it on the back side first.

I used to build plastic models and i used Easy Off oven cleaner to take of the paint. Doesnt hurt the plastic and the paint comes off with soap and watter.
As always test it first. |
^^lol ditto this. there is a thread around form the past few weeks where a guys used easyoff on the enginebay area and it peeled the paint. some brake cleaners will do it too, although i am not sure if it will damage the plastic.
