Question Bose Picture Puzzle

I just pulled the stereo out of my car that the pervious owner had installed. I found two wires whose purpose is unknown. In the 'hole.jpg' photo the two wires are highlighted in red. The one marked '1' I think may be the secondary antenna that I've read about. The other highlighted harness I'm not sure of. I haven't seen a bose head unit to match the wires up to. The in the other photo, 'amp.jpg' I'm wondering if the object I've highlighted is the center channel amp? If so I don't see a reason for it to remain as the center speaker is long gone... if I can get it out of there!

And as a bonus, can anyone tell me if the boost gauge end of this hose looks normal? The little nipple thing at the end looks a little jacked up, but again this is the only boost gauge I've taken apart.

Thanks!

I think that is your antenna cable.

The center channel amp is under the center console right under where your elbow would sit if resting it on the console.

I have no clue about the boost gauge

I haven't been back there in so long I can't remember
But I CAN tell you it aint one of the antennas. The cable for the antennas are thick and are about the same thickness to one another.

It looks like it could be a ground cable.

Replace the boost gauge line. Looking from the picture it could have a hole which would give you incorrect boost readings. (lower)

Centre pic. is the center amp. It has the main + power for the audio system in that plug (relay underhood).

The Bose unit has a "diversity antenna" system. You would find two antenna cables on the right side of the console - stock unmodified. One is a standard size standard design and goes to the power antenna. The smaller one (looks like the standard one - just smaller) goes to the antenna portion of the rear window defogger - it's up at the top of the pattern.

I think most of us have used just the power antenna for aftermarket units and ignore the small one.

I can tell you for a fact that the black cable is the ground for the Bose HU.

Wire-up an ISO connector, makes it much easier in the future
