S4 Seat Headrest Speakers
I bought an 88 Vert and have speakers in the seats. When I try to turn them on with the switch on the center console the power light does not come on, but I wouldn't be surprised if the bulb is just burnt out. Is there a typical problem with these speakers that i should take a look at first or should I just start taking apart the console and dash to start testing for loose/broken wires?

No one responded to this original post. Anyone care to take a shot at it today? I have an 88 vert and planning to install some new speakers. Headrest speakers seem unique enough.....the previous owner disconnected. Any suggestions?

I also have an '88 vert, but my headrest speakers still function. I do know that the amp is under the passenger seat and may have a fuse blown, or something wrong with the wiring inside the seat itself. They are not huge at all, but I don't have the exact measurements available right now. Check out the amp and make sure it is functioning.

does it have an aftermarket radio? if it does the previous owner may not have hooked them up. thats what happen with me and took me forever to figure it out. if its not connected, then it wont light up when you push the button

Didnt look at the tome stamps. Instead, why don't we keep the thread on topic for other people looking for info.

headrest speakers
I have a 91 vert, my headrest speakers worked, but I wanted a better quality sound. I took the vinyl/leather off of mine and replaced the speakers. Simple setup... but the covers are very tight... (understatement of the year) I had to heat them up to get them back on. I also wired mine to amp in a pseudo surround configuration ... (with music, don't have any video in the car so its more like a 5 channel mode)
