*RX007* 09-13-06 09:59 PM

you should do a GB :)

fd3s777 09-13-06 10:03 PM

Another GB? humm... these are very fine pieces. At their quality, I don't think want to do GB as now. Also takes very long time to make...

I'd like to buy this Jay. Could you tell me how to make payment and if they're already available. I'll take a set for sure. Let me know PLEASE. Thanks.

str8ryd 09-13-06 11:56 PM

OH and I want this in PLAIN WEAVE if possible. Otherwise forget it. I need it to match my other CF parts. Let me know if this will be possible. Later.

fd3s777 09-14-06 12:28 AM

Plain Wave?

Farhan 09-14-06 12:53 AM

^Yah. There's two types of CF weaves from my understanding. Plain and Twill weave. Plain = Japanese Weave.

SuIcIdeKiNg- 09-14-06 12:59 AM

whos white rx7 is that?

fd3s777 09-14-06 01:12 AM

o ok... currently our factory only have this type of wave. It's our FD...

fd3s777 09-14-06 05:58 AM

I understand. So would it be possible to have it made in the Japanese Weave? I can wait if that's the issue. I'm not in any particular hurry, but I don't want mismatching CF weaves on the car. Please let me know. I really want these parts. Thanks.

fd3s777 09-14-06 02:07 PM

I have check with factory see if they have the JDM carbon pattern material. Cuz one roll of these carbon fiber cost about 7000.

fd3s777 09-17-06 09:31 AM

No one interest? Maybe I do a GB?

Cool. Just let me know. I'm VERY interested and will buy for sure IF you can make it in the JDM weave. Thanks.

fd3s777 09-17-06 06:08 PM

I'll try and see...

str8ryd 09-23-06 12:50 PM

^Any news?

Russo 09-23-06 01:59 PM

interested as well.... in the USDM weave... i called and left a msg for you... btw, you need a better phone service... :)

fd3s777 09-23-06 02:49 PM

Sorry , missed your call. I do think they look better with JDM wave as well. But factory don't have that pattern as now.

XxMerlinxX 09-23-06 05:32 PM

JDM weave is "Plain Weave". The usual kind of weave, which is what he's showing, is called "Twill Weave". Plain weave is cheaper and easier to come by, just an FYI.

fd3s777 09-23-06 06:26 PM

humm.. most of manufacture here has the big wave one. Plain wave has less 3D effect and easier to make parts.

XxMerlinxX 09-23-06 06:44 PM

Yeah, plain weave is used mostly in the racing world. It's cheaper and easier to mold, so most of the aero parts get made out of it. They end up painting over them anyway, so the appearance is not an issue. The 2x2 twill weave has a much nicer appearance, but isn't quite as moldable as plain weave. There are other weaves, such as a satin weave (I think Farhan's wing is made with this kind of weave), and you can even get a 4x4 twill, which doesn't look as good IMHO.

Are these just overlays that go on the existing pieces? If so, how do you attach them? double sided tape? some recommended adhesive? I just want to be clear.

Prometheus 01-24-07 03:13 PM

Thats exactly what I was going to ask, is this kit a replacement or cover, I don't want to alter the lines of my FD with a big bump where the door latch is.

fd20b 01-24-07 03:57 PM

carbon fiber

If you think that is sick check out www.7parts.com and see there full carbon fiber body FD it is in the new Import Tuner mag...

Prometheus 01-24-07 04:54 PM

Feel free to flame, but do you ever think too much carbon fiber is a little cheezy?

I think in moderation Carbon fiber is great, but there is such thing as "too much"

fd20b 01-24-07 05:48 PM

carbon fiber

I was not flaming on you at all your parts look great, in fact you should contact 7parts about selling your products (i am sure Jeff will sell them for you as you can tell he loves carbon fiber).. But I don't think there is anything cheeze about his 7, it is the sickest 7 ever (and it won nationals this year too)...
