Removing CD player in 2nd gen
 

Well recent events have lead me to sell my 2nd gen.

I have a deck worth about 500 dollars that im not willing to part with. Now im no expert as i had this installed when i bought it. But i dont know where to start to take it out.

Can someone give me some details on this?

I had a system installed at Circuit City. They told me that if I ever needed to remove it, they would do it for free. You might want to check with your installer to see if he can help.

Pull the vents, and undo the two screws up there. Pull the shifter surround off and undo the two screws there. Screws being the ones that hold the whole radio surround in place on your dash. Now you will have 4 screws holding in you panle for the radio. Undo those. Pull the whole thing away from the dash and you can get to the wiring harness. Now take a pair of wire cutters and cut everything away.....just kidding. Most likely there will be connectors from the old wiring harness to the new one on the deck and you can just unplug everything. If they hardwired it...wire cutters.
