removing bottom window trim?

im having some trouble on removing this bottom trim...does the window need to be down in order to remove this? or can it remain staying closed? also is there screws or anything? or does it just clip off??

I think it slides off towards the back of the car but not sure

The molding holds onto the door with several white clips.

Remove the outside A-pillar triangle and the door lock piece. For the door lock, remove the plastic cover piece from the inside of the car to expose the back of the door lock. Loosen the door lock piece to give you enough room to lift the molding off. You can start at the front and lift up and towards the car to release the molding from the tabs.

If you plan on reusing the molding, you have to be careful not to break the clips or kink the metal backbone. Otherwise it won't look the same when you reinstall it.

yea...go straight up along the window but i'd put the the window down. Don't pull away from the car or you'll bend it

You need to remove the triangular trim piece at the front as well as loosen (vs remove) the exterior door handle trim. And yes the window needs to be down.

When I removed mine I also removed the interior door panel, this gave me access to the clips mentioned above.

BTW all these steps are detailed in the FSM....

1) I .. kinda ... already mentioned the triangle ... and the lock part ... already... ??

2) You don't need to remove the inner door panel. (??)

3) Taking off the inner door panel does not give you access to the clips. And there's no need to "access" the clips.

4) No it's not required to put down the window.

5) Typing "see FSM" ? Twice? For this? Seriously.

There's already way too much misinfo on this forum. Had to do it. :)

It is however much easier if the window is down.
