Redoing leather on seats

if i go to get the leather redone on my seats, will they do the same exact type of leather? because the leather in my rx-7 feels really good compared to the leather in the other cars i've been in, is it because its worn? i mean its has a smoother feel to it,

no. Mazda has a patent on smooth feeling leather. I would not do it :)

Depends on the shop that does the work. The GOOD shops will not be cheap, but will do a great job. Expect around $200 just for repairing the bolster if it's a good shop.

There's different types of leather you can choose from. The shop you take it to should have some swatches that you can look at and feel for comparison. It might be expensive depending on what type of material your gonna use though. I want to get mine reupholerstered too but for the cost they are charging me I can get some nice Corbeaus instead! I'm still debating though...

I'm trying to make the same decision elliegant.

I was really thinking of the A4's, but I don't really want to deal with getting them mounted. But on the other hand, I'd hate to spend all that money on repairing the stock seats (especially when I'm not that fond of leather).

Mahjik:
That's what I'm saying..... I got quoted $250-280 for one seat to be reupholstered in black cloth. The A4's are $320 plus the brackets $64.25... so thats $384.25 for one Corbeau A4! Might as well spend an extra $100 for nicer seats instead of getting it reupholstered..... but for me, I just don't have the money now.

Get some racing seats! RedFD had his seats redone and they are pretty sweet. Not the same material I guess but they still feel great.

do the middle in suede or the whole seat if you like. You'll love them

I feel the same way... I recently leased a new car, and they put leather in for me.... and it total sucks. It's all rough, and not very comfortable. So that got me wondering about redoing my FD's black leather seats. I love the smooth leather that is currently in there... and they are pulled tight, not like luxury style seats. I would be affraid that the new stuff wouldn't be as good.
