Rebar modification / cutting for '99+ bumpers (Pics!)
5 Attachment(s)
I wasn't able to find any thread about rebar modification, so I thought I'd snap a few pictures of my own and post them. All you need is an angle grinder, a cutting wheel, dust mask (you don't want to breathe that fiberglass dust...it gets EVERYWHERE), eye protection, and plastic to reduce the amount of dust that gets into your engine bay. It's no science...just test mount the bumper....mark off where the bumper touches and how deep the cuts need to be so it won't touch. Test fit again...check for bumper contact....trim....test fit again.

What bumper are you slapping on?

daym foo, did you have to cut that much? I couldve shown you mines 99 rebar. :D
|
can anyone post a 99 rebar for those of us who want to save a few bucks and cut the stock rebar? comparing that with this cut job might save some time on the fit/refit of the bumper.

Fdeez thank for the post, a lot of us have been wanting to see this for a while now.
I am getting my 99 spec hopefully this week, and this should save me a bunch of time! |
I actually just recently testfitted my 99spec bumper. I'll try and get some pics of my rebar up there. I had to cut more off of mine though, since the corner lamps wouldn't fit. Have you test fitted the corner lamps yet?

anyone got pics?
|
Theorie has pics on his website, it was a much more accurate cut.
