I thought my 94 fd's stock head unit was bad because i got basically no sound from the driver's rear speaker, just a clicking sound, like a turn signal, it is a clarion pt-9612c non-bose unit, so i bought a known good one and after a few minutes of warming up it does the same thing.

I've owned the car new since i bought it in dec 1993, with only 24,000 original miles. Always garage kept, never even driven in rain.

The car is mint and original, so that is why i want to keep the crappy stock head unit. I've never even used it much! Maybe 20 hours total in the last 25 years.

I've searched and googled my *** off and haven't found much on this issue.

I have the fsm and checked the rear speakers, when i replaced the stay dampers with new jdm ones, to lift the hatch with the oe 99 wing.

Any help is appreciated!

Probably want to check for continuity in the wiring from the head unit to that speaker. One easy thing with the head unit out is to check resistance on the 2 speaker wires - the stock speakers should be 4 ohm if memory serves. If you get a different reading or open circuit, there you go.

You can also compare the resistance reading to a known working speaker, like the right rear.
