Re-thinking fiberglassing the rear seats, want thoughts on a new idea (new to me)
 

Before I start, what I want is a sub enclosure on the passenger side and a battery bracket (and possible amp location) for its relocation into the drivers-side bucket.

So I've spent the last 2 hours reading up on mold-making for fiberglass, as I kept thinking that the best idea is to make a mold of the seats (I have a little fiberglassing experience, but not mold making, and my previous fg pieces weren't on this large of a scale) and then make a custom enclosure and drop it in (and drill out holes for the battery brackets to be attached to the body, etc, etc)

Well, I've thought of another idea (much easier to do), and I was hoping that you guys could give me a little advice on whether this would make sense...

It'd be as simple as installing a rod from side to side that'd be at the same height as the rear trunk area, and as far forward as the beginning of the seats (behind the front seats). Then just install another piece of rod to make a "T" and then glass that as the center divider and then glass over the entire thing.

You'd also want to plug the holes that are in the bucket area, of course.

What I want to know is if this would create a good enough "enclosure" for a sub box, as obviously the bottom of the enclosure would still be metal.

I don't really intend for this to be removable, either, so I'm not worried about if this would be permanent or not. :)

i was gunna do that, but made an initial mold, didnt like the way it turned out. thinking about doing it again, and making a complete fiberglass blank for the rear for either subs or speakers, or an amp rack, or whatever, thats why its called a blank.

i did that as well at first, but decided it's too much of a hassle to make something like that if really all i need is just the top half of the "box" (and easier to make since i'm going to have 2 distinct areas
