radio quality degrades over 30 minutes
89 Vert
Kenwood 5025 Pioneer speakers in door and dash new wires puled to both Stock headrest speakers - wired direct using factory wiring (jumpers in plug at amp) All factory amps unplugged or removed Unit has sperate ground installed, all wires soldered and covered with shrink Over the course of about 30 minutes the output degrades in quality to the point where its hard to hear and what you do hear is poor quality. With a CD I can change tracks and everything comes back to normal. Radio or sattelite, must turn off unit for a few sec's and then it goes back to normal. Any ideas? |
Do I read correctly that you have 3 pairs of speakers hooked up to the head unit? If so, How? How many ohms are the factory head rest speakers?
You could be overheating the head-unit if you are powering too many speakers (esp. any lower than 4 ohms) |
actually 4 pair
2 in the doors (4 Ohms) 2 in the dash (4 ohms) 2 each in the head rests |
Thats only 3 pairs, but it does sound like your over heating the unit like tobecontinued said, maybe if you have 2 pairs running off the same channel that could be your problem, best bet is to write up a wiring diagram so we can see it better or give a more detailed explanation of how everything is hooked up.

dont have a graphics program at work, however the wiring is simple
LF output controls the L door and dash speaker RF output controls the R door and dash speaker LR controls the left headrest speakers on both seats RR controls the right headrest speakers on both seats all are + to + or - to - as indicated on wiring or speakers no amps used (headrest speaker amp shot, therefore bypassed). |
maybe you should use an amp if you're using that many speakers
i've got six speakers, and push two of them with an amp |
