Question Regarding Keyless Entry / Alarm System
 

The alarm system that came with my car at purchase is prehistoric and I recently lost the one controller that came with the car.

I have a few questions that should be pretty easy to answer and I am just too lazy to research so help a fellow out.

1.) Is there any way I can just buy a replacement remote and some how sync it up with the system that is in my car?

2.) If #1 is not an option, can I just buy a new alarm system - swap out the computer but retain and use the old wiring / door actuators etc. so I don't have to do a completely new alarm install?

3.) Thoughts / Recommendations would be greatly appreciated in regards to, what I should do, what type of alarms systems are good ( I dont need any fancy bells and whistles -- just lock and unlock ).
