pour a mold and fiber glass.
hey,
I was looking over at www.fiberlay.com, at the pour a mold as a posiblity for molding some parts. Probably a hood, or a fender, or door or something, not sure exactly yet. But has anyone used this stuff? how well does it work? Which one would be best? POR-A-MOLD S333 CURES AT ROOM TEMPERATURE TO A MEDIUM HARDNESS FLEX KAST AND CURES TO A FLEXIBLE BUT HARD WOOD COLORED PLASTIC. POR-A-MOLD S555 CURES AT ROOM TEMPERATURE TO A FIRm PINK RUBBER POR-A-KAST CLEAR CURES TO A RIGID (SHORE D84) OPTICALLY CLEAR PLASTIC any help would be helpful... heheh:D |
You'll need something that doesn't flex. When fiberglass dries, it shrinks and will deform the mold if not completely rigid.

Yeah I've been using fiber glass to make the molds, but some other mateial such as the pour molds, would make things a bit easier I think but, I've never tried them so.... Maybe I'll have to pick some up and give it a try.
