Parking brake wire (required?!? HELP)

Here's a problem I ran across tonight. Bought a CD/DVD player with flip in screen for my car today (first car project yay). Got everything hooked up, but I'm required to hook a pink wire up to the parking break negative wire. TWO important questions to solve a problem. You are required to hook it up so the car MUST be parked to watch a DVD. What I want to know is 1, where is this wire, how can I find it, and do I just T into it? And 2, I want to put a switch of some sort on it so I don't have to be parked to watch the DVD. How would I go about setting up the switch so my parking brake light would come on? I want the DVD screen to be viewable even when the car is moving. Getting the switch and hooking it up I don't think would be that difficult, I just have to make the computer think the parking break is up when it's really not

This is so easy you're going to laugh when you read it. Don't even worry about the parking brake, just run one end of the wire into a switch, and ground the wire coming off the other end of the switch. To tell you the truth, I was going to hook up a switch to my DVD and navigation system because I wanted to do the same but was worried that my navigation system would be confused if I was moving but my parking brake was on. I tried it without the switch and it worked fine. If I were you, I'd just ground the wire and be done with it.

So I just take the wire that's hooked up to the cd player, and just ground it? That will trick it into thinking the parking break is on?

Yup, that's exactly what I did with my pioneer headunit and the navigation system. Both devices think that the handbrake is on all the time. It's actually kind of stupid, my car is moving on the map, and my nav unit will estimate my speed at 50 mph, but it'll still let me watch dvd's or tv (not that I do) because it thinks that I'm at a stop with the brake on.
