Nexus 7 Install

1 Attachment(s)
I read XLR8's thread on his galaxy tab install and some others and decided to go with a Nexus 7 because it has pogo pins for power and audio output. I ended up not using them for now, but I'm looking to see if anyone has advice or knows of a clean way to mount a removable tablet.

Options I see right now:
1.) Keep using temporary velcro on and just take if off when I want to use it. It's actually working surprisingly well and allows access to the buttons, charging, and audio jack. Or replace the velcro with magnets

2.) Modify a tablet suction mount to fit into the DIN like in this guide.

3.) Try some sort of sliding mechanism, or this DVD Drive thing:

I'm trying to keep it removable so that I can use the tablet for other things and to make it easier to work on stuff behind the tablet if I want to, like rearranging wires, replacing the amp, etc. down the road.

Here's how it currently sits (ignore the GPS cable on the left side & bottom). Volume control and ignition signal'd power is mounted by the driver kick panel on the right.

the dvd drive system looks great. specially if you can keep the system working.

but on simpler side, you can install to drawer sliders attached to a frame where you put the tablet.

Im in the process of doing something similar, but wont have car close to me till april .

Yeah stay away from the magnets. Magnetic fields have this nasty tendency to want to erase memory chips. lol

Here's a year old bump.

I was planning the same thing, here's my install using a different amp. Car's a little dirty, I cut the interior behind the AC trim. If I were to do it again, I wouldn't have cut the interior and used your method instead.

I apologize for the crappy photo, I took the picture with the car cover over the car so it was dark.
