mazdatrix mats
does anyone have these?? i couldnt find a picture... if anyone has a picture of their mats could you please post? im wondering how close they come (in design) to the stock FD mats?? im aware they dont come with the rx7 logo embroidered, but besides that......
|
no pics, but the mats are same as the oem ones. (fitment is perfect).
|
the carpet texture (and cut pile height), as well as the circular rolled stitching around the edges is the same as stock? if so thats all the info i need...
|
I have them in my car... they seem a "bit" larger tha OEM stock but fitment is good. If no one post pictures by the time I get home I'll take some and post.

I read that the mats were thicker and a different carpet than OEM.
Obiously they will be the same shape and size though. |
I have these and I have had them for about 2 years. They fit PERFECT, but driver side mat seemed to wear down on my left heal quickly. I have a hole where my left heel met the mat. passenger mat is still like new.
I would still recommend if you dont expect it to last for more than a year. Ian |
heath they are shit quality. they wear out fast and they are thin and flimsy as hell. also they are not the same material as stock and dont have the logo or the stiched trim just some plastic garbage. piece of shit product im not even sure why they make or why people buy it. It basically is kmart mats in the same shape as the stock fd ones oh yeah and they slide around like a bitch.
haha I should be the salesman for mazdatrix for the mats right?? |
do they have enough carpet to bring the mats to a fabric shop of some kind and get the logo put on?

The Mazdatrix mats ARE Lloyd mats. I just got a pair for X-mas. I pounded snaps into the footrest area, and snap a piece of foam rubber in there to rest the feet on. No wear through, pull the footrest off when I want it to look better, you can barely see the snaps. Worked great!
They fit very nicely, don't slide around, and are of decent quality. The stockers are better, but mine were smelling literally like ass! The foam on the backside was rotting... |
I also have the mazdatrix/Lloyd mats...
they are nice with rubber backing but the heel wear is a concern. I wanted someone to custom a thicker heel cushion like the ones in the BMW M3 floor mats. I think it can be done....the RX-7 logo is easy and has been done...check out this thread.... https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...ight=floormats |
yeah i just spend WAY too much $ on some used mats from ebay.... they're not in great shape, but not horrible either. its just rediculous. from looking at those mats in the other thread, i noticed a few things. A) they are not nearly as plush as the stock mats B) it looks like the thread used to embroider rx7 on the mats is much thinner than the stock stuff and will most likely just rip over time C) the backing doesnt look like it will keep it in place D) the edges are not nearly as nice..... basically it just looks like a cheap/flimsy copy
they need to incorporate something like this (that they use on the miata mats into the ones for our 7) -> |
Don't you guys have bolts that hold the mat down??
The replacement mats could easily be bolted down the same way. |
rotor,
you may want to find some mats and get an embroidery shop to do it. Honestly, I don't know how you can tell all of that from the pics. My Lloyd/mazdatrix mats are nice with a rubber backing not the flimsy stuff found on the stock ones...the only thing is that it does feel "plush" but the fiber concentration doesn't seem as dense.... here is a pic of my mats in the car...tough to see https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...postid=2695217 |

If you have black carpet Pettit sells mats.

I just found him and sent him a email his name is Ralf Wilms http://brfoundation.com/rotaryaccess...oot_rx_3rd.htm also I think gotham sells some leather boots. The shiftknob is the lighted 5speed RX-8 knob from the group buy. Round 2 is going on as we speak. That heel pad is EXACTLY what is in my BMW M3! If you find a way or fabric to sew that in let me know!! |
