makeover time! and a few q's

Hey all, I wanna makeover the FD and make it look as gooood as possible exterior, interior etc. with the interior what brands of what products should I use to really spiff her up? exterior I use meguiers gold class products.

After I wash her with meguiers gold class soap, and start to dry it off with a terry cloth towel, I Get all these little white spots all over the car that look like rock chips, that eventually go away after I take her for a spin. what the hell is that?

I want to make the exterior look really good, what should I use? wax, polish? how do I go about doing it? and whats the best touch up paint?

What do I use on the engine and how should I go about doing it? thanks

Invest in a California Water Blade. The white spots you see might be waterspots? The wateblade gets ALOT (like 85%) of the water off and makes hand drying w/ cloth much much easier. You get more water off of your car :)

what the hell is a california water blade?

Why is everything from California or Europe? :D

Absorber is better. My ex has a California water blade, and I ahve an Absorber. It is a little towel looking thing that comes in a tube. Pick one up for $10.

This is what I use and it's so cash you can't believe.
Absorber>>>It's the best $10 bucks I ever spent
Meguiers car wash>>>Purple stuff, it even smells good
Meguiers gold class wheel cleaner
Meguiers tire stuff, not sure exact product name but it's real thick stuff like syrup and it lasts for weeks!!
Mothers "Back to Black" on exterior vinyl
Windex and newspapers. Newspaper doesn't steak
Rain-X in the Spray on the Glass
Tannery leather care for the Hides
Semichrome polish on all my engine bay goodies
I forget what the stuff is I use on my dash, But it's good stuff that doesn't leave alot of residue. I get back to you all on that one.
Thats all folks:p:

Oh yea I forgot to mention Inever wax my car it's to much work I use Eagle one "Wet Wax " It's really easy and looks just as good.

I use the california water blade and I like it a lot.

You still need to use a chamois or a towel though.

What I do after I rinse the entire car

1. Water blade all the panels

2. Take my P21s drying towel (Not very big) and go around and get all I can (98%)

3. Take a few terry cotton pads and get the rest of the water, and buildup on rear bumper and mirrors. Gets in the little cracks. Also, this will remove the slight water spotting that happens no matter what, unless you wash your car in the shade.

The little things that look like chips might be chips. When adarkcar is clean the chips and everything tend to come out more than usual. But dont take my word on that..

Fd3BOOST 06-15-02 01:29 PM

go to a mazda dealership they sell touch up paint in factory colors. Brilliant black right?
BTW the Absorber doesn't need back up to dry your car.

ZMhacker 06-16-02 10:16 AM

I also have an absorber, one of the best investments. It works better then any other chamois or towel.

ZMhacker 06-16-02 10:18 AM

Also what kind of waxes, polishes and clay bars are you guys using? Right now I use all Zymol stuff and love it, but it is a little on the expensive side.

Rx-7$4$me 06-16-02 01:59 PM

how exactly do you polish? and what the hell is clay?

Quik 93 FD 06-16-02 04:26 PM

if you have a car, you should have an absorber. period. i used mothers or meguiars stuff for the outside and i use armor all leather cleaner. it comes in a tan bottle and works great. it doesnt leave your seats feeling sticky at all, they just feel clean.
