Is anyone else getting those genuine italian leather shifter and ebrake boots? I got the word today that they are on the way. I'll post pics when I get them and let you all know how I like em'. I'm looking forward to it :D

ill take pleather any day. my rex isnt a luxury car like a mercedes....but to each his own. by the way, how much u pay for em?

Yeah, I wonder what theyre gonna look like. I didn't have my rex in time to buy them. Maybe I can buy them later on.

Just b/c u have leather shifter and ebrake boots does not make it a luxury car. It just adds that something else to make it that much more nice looking and that much more special. I don't know what his final prices are going to look like and I don't know if he wants me to share what I got mine for. Let's just say it is a real deal :D

I just got them in on the 26th and had them in by noon :) They look really sweet and it really did not take that long. I will post some pics when I get a chance to download them from my camera ;)

I am very intersted in seeing your pics. How is the quality of the leather and the stitching? What are the color options?

I am not sure what the color options are. I will pm you his email address and you can ask him. It will not be until Wednesday b/c I got his email at work and, of course, I don't work until Wednesday. The quality is very good. I got black with black stitches and it is made very nicely. I would definitely get it if I had not already. They look really really good :)

My boot is in the mail to him to use as a template for the 86-88 models, cant wait to get ahold of one.

I am just about to install the software on my computer in order to download the pics from my camera. Right afterwards I will have the pics b4 install and after install. Trust me guys, they look really nice :D

Once I get back to work I will post his direct email address so you can ask him what you will. All he has thus far is the boots for 3rd gens but he is working 2nd gen boots too. I am not too sure about 1st gens...

For all of you interested, here's the scoop.

I've been making these leather boots for the 300ZX for over a year now and I've sold over 400 sets of them in various color options.

For the past few weeks I've been working on getting boots done for the RX-7.

Right now I can offer both 2nd gen later year models (89-92) and 3rd gen shifter and ebrake boots.

For the 2nd gen, together with Joakim Jorwall, a dedicated RX7 fan from Arkansas, we manufactured and ebrake boot for this car. As you know, the ebrake boot didn't exist on the 2nd gen. UNTIL NOW.

I'm currently working on getting 1st gen and early year models 2nd gen (86-89). I should be able to offer them commercially within a month or so.

Will this leather fade in the sun? I bought a custom black leather shift boot for my MR2 and it looked great for about a month then it faded to a light brown color. The guy I bought it from said it would fade slightly but it faded a lot more than slightly.

I have no complaints about my leather fading. I also didn't observe anything like that on my own car, where I've had them on for something like 15 months.

The important thing is to take proper care of leather though. You need to apply leather conditioner/UV protectorant every few weeks.

It is my belief that if you keep them properly maintained they won't fade. And I have yet to be proven otherwise.
