Knights Sports vs MazdaSpeed hood

Hello all, i was wondering if you could post pix of the Knights Sports hood (with the 4 vents) and the MazdaSpeed hood. I am now ready to get a hood, then my project will be done for this year (until i get the Christmas bonus).

I like the way both hoods look, and cant make up my mind. Also, does anyone know the cooling efficiency of either? I think the Knights may cool better bc of more vents, but thats not always true. Thanks for the help!!!

I would go with the knightsports. It has always been one of my favorites. Then again, if I had the money I would go with re ameminya

I've had both on my car (currently have the KS hood) and I have no doubt that the KS cools better at lower speeds and at a standstill. I don't have any hard data, but I believe the MS hood cools a bit better at higher speeds. I noticed quite a difference between the stock hood and the MS hood, around 12 degrees celcius depending on the speed and amount of traffic. Unfortunately, my car was down for some time between having the MS hood on and switching to the KS hood from Rotary Extreme (which is a work of art, btw...). I watch my IAT's via the PFC Commander and I'm very aware when something changes. But due to the 4 month interval, I can't remember off hand the original IAT numbers with the stock hood or the MS. None the less, it does work and at most, it's within a few degrees of the MS hood if there's any difference at all. My IC does seem to get cooler more quickly with the KS hood after having been heat soaked in traffic. Temps drop like a rock once above 45=50mph. The new RE (pictured in the previous post) is pretty bad ass though.

RX7tt95, thanx!! I was weary as to which cooled better, but judging from your post, i think i know which one now! Has anyone else had any experience with the KS or MS hood? If so, please post your experience as well!!!

thanks a ton

MS and KS could be pretty much identical considering the main outlets locations, right behind the radiator/intercooler. The only difference I know will be the water channel for use in rain. KS's does come with the water channel which minimizes water coming into engine room, where MS's does not, as far as I know. But, structural integrity could be rated better on MS's. They were made of CF, werent they?

Regular Price

MazdaSpeed 198,000 Y (probable price, I hear MS staffs in Tsukuba)
It will be released in Nov.
MS is testing it in the circuit.
I took pics.
But they told me not to post, right now.

Knight Sports 178,000 Y

RE-A 148,000 Y (CF)
RE-A 98,000 (FRP)

The KS hood also comes in CF.

KS also has the ducts to the side and rear. The passenger side one is right over the turbos so I would speculate that it lets more heat out than the MS.
