just got back from the body shop, look.....

I asked my good friend that owns a body shop to give me some samples of a good color for my car and he ask for a body piece that I wouldn't mind getting painted. So I give him my eastbear headlight covers. Well, I told him I wanted a purplish mystic color. This is what he came up with. He still hasn't gotten back to me on pricing so I'm guessing it's alot. What do you guys think? I'll probably end up paying just the cost for paint. Of cousre this isn't as good of a job of if he would paint my car. It still needs to be polished

is it that purple change to green color? If it is, I personally have never seen that color enhance the looks of a car. I think it does quite the opposite. But to each his own.

Wow, I think you should definitely get that color on your FD. I'm extremely jealous, because I don't know anyone that owns a body shop that can give me great deals.

I've known this guy for like 5 years and he owns a very small shop but has all the goodies. He's been in the business for like 20yrs so I have no idea why he doesn't want to expand. His shop is next to his house so maybe it's cause he wants to be close to his wife and kids. I'm probably going to have to help him do allot of the work though so it's not like he's just going to do everything. He also owns a powdercoating business and powdercoats my suff for next to nothing

actually, I talked to RX7-2JOCK and the colors are alot different. I have a lot of green in the paint and Jock says he has none and is blue. Plus, he has a solid color while mine has metalic on it. I'm getting another sample of gold and green pretty soon. He's going to get me a sample of copper and purple too

I think green to gold is bad ***. Or red to gold. I think the purple chameleon colors are the most popular, and therefore, most used.

Change that jade green color to more of a dark saphire maybe ... a shade of blue. The mystic colors that have to much of a color change don't look right on FD's. But if all the colors are similar in hue and shade, it looks much better.

My problem with Montego Blue is that it is just to dull ... it just doesn't grab you like a lot of other colors can. It only comes to life in very bright, direct sunlight ... and only then if you're close to the car. If it's cloudy, or the car is dirty, Montego Blue just looks really plain.

Yeah, you're right. Unless the sun is out is just looks blue.

Well, I'm glad you asked. I just went to his shop just right now and he gave me some very good news. Just for paint alone, $1200. He said the price has dropped by over 1/2 since many other companies are coming out with these colors. I think I'm going to go with some copper color. He said we would have to paint the whole car black first and then go back and use the mystic olor paint over the black. I think overall, I'll be paying $2000-$2500. Not too bad. And since my engine is out, this will be the perfect time
