JKL Racing interior dash parts

Has anyone bought or seen JKL's FD3 carbon fiber dash pieces? I've looked at pictures and the parts look impressive...these seem to be new castings in CF, not a cover or laminated...any feedback?

JKL = Seller who dipped and owes a number of people $ on the forums for deposits on product that was never made.

Reviews on the fitment of those specific pieces seemed to be poor.

A more reputable vendor is apparently working on a set as we speak.

I'd take a look in the JKL Vendor Forum at all the pissed off people who have been ripped off.

there is an FD owner in miami that bought them and had many hours of work to get them to fit properly. he was not very happy!

Thanks a bunch for the feed back! That kit isn't cheap, so I'd be mad too if it didn't fit right. I also thought it was strange that JKL didn't make the map door cover and the end piece on the drivers door, it wouldn't complete the wrap-a-round effect without them. I took all the plastic dash pieces off 3 years ago and spent hours trying to get that covering off them, it had gone soft. A razor blade then sand paper worked great. I gave them a couple of coats of Rustoelum Pewter hammer finish spray paint, (it also comes in silver and gold, at most hardware chains), it really looks good and it's held up well. But I've always thought the dash wrap-a-round should have been done in carbon fiber in the first place, it would suit the era of the car and hold up well. As soon as someone comes up with a good kit I'll buy one !! Thanks for your help!

I lost $200.00 to them for a deposit on a splitter for my GTC (race version) bumper...

How'd your bumper fit? I've heard mixed results from those in the group buy.

Mine needs some serious fiberglass to work. Of course, no response from JKL to these issues after forking over about $1300 for the whole setup with lights and splitter.

Initial fitment was bullshit, but there was enough fiberglass to sand away for proper fitment. I requested my bumper to be double wrapped around the top edge, in order to have enough to shave. I knew I wad so serious work ahead of me.

I actually traded my bumper to a local guy here (afgmoto1978) for a dual 34 row oil cooler kit.

He did all the work shaving it, but it looks great.

It's such a good looking bumper, it's worth the fitment issues.

Now I've set my sights on a kogutani front bumper, it's like the GTC on steroids.

But no light lenses :(

I wish mine could be shaved. I need to cut off the left edge and add material to fill in a 1/8 to 1/2 in. gap where it meets the driver's side fender.

s14.3rew is making a 4 piece dash set (gauge cluster, gauge cluster hood, a/c panel, shifter panel) and evo-r is making the two door panels in carbon fiber. hopefully fitment should turn out better than jkls interior pieces, all 3 sets ive heard of installed took lots of work to fit.
