at least i dont drive a jeep or sportge wut ever!

its a gray i went over to this paint place and asked for interior pant picked it out came home and painted it ill post more pics later when i get the whole thing done.

and it was alot of work because i swaped carpets with a local rx7 who wanted my tan!!

cmartinp28 06-29-02 07:39 PM

ooooh...... fuck i just remembered........ if i paint everything else, i cant paint the carpet.....hehe

Flybye 06-29-02 08:09 PM

You can't paint the carpet, but you CAN always dye it. Ya just gotta find a pot big enough to dump the carpet in it and put it over a stove or a BBW that will get the water hot enough to boil.

I don't know if leaving it out in the sun to let it dry would do the trick, though..

actually you can paint the carpet with fabric paint. works great.

That wire looks like radio antenna. If you are talking about the black one with protruding round look tube.

Painted the center dash of my 1st gen when I got the bumper repaired - the body shop just tacked on the cost of the peint to the insurance company so it cost me nothing for 2 coats of metallic black and two clearcoats. ALso crafted a dash kit for more storage

and earlier, with the factory stereo...

I tried it and it didn't work that great. I never tried it on the FD's fabric, though. I did it to an old 75 Formula that I had. Same dood was parting out his Firebird, I got the rug cheap, but it was beige and my interior was black.

It didn't take long for the paint to come off :(

TpCpLaYa 06-30-02 02:21 PM

wasnt there a thread a lil while back where sum1 Successfully changed the color of their rug with no hassle?

I used some of that dupli color fabric and vinyl spray on my floor mats. Took about a day for it to rub off where my feet contact it. I'm using vht carpet dye for the actual carpet, I'm hoping that lasts longer and I'll just get black floor mats. I'm hoping that with as little contact as I make with the carpet it won't rub off anyway.

The whole process is a bitch, and I can't get enough blue to finish my doors and stuff so my interior is in peices. For all the hard plastic I'm stripping off the oe black paint and applying the vht dye. After taking off the old, the new is very scratch resistent. I think it'll be worth it, I just hope it lasts so I won't have to pull it apart again down the road.
