Inexpensive vented hood modifications

Just a thought: for those of you who like the vented hood style, you can get this

from Erebuni for $136 and attach it to your stock hood. Its made out of fiberglass, so you can bond it on with epoxy and then blend it in with fiberglass resin. Do it yourself and save a ton of money.

I don't think I would trust myself to do a project like that! :D

How much would a body shop charge in labor to put that in?

Don't know how much it would cost, but really, putting it on wouldn't be that hard. You can get all the materials you'd need (epoxy, fiberglass resin/matting, sandpaper, sanding blocks, primer) at pep boys and most of it is just elbow grease and time filling and sanding. You can use a jig saw to cut the holes in the hood. (I'd recommend taking the hood off the car and putting it on saw horses.) When you've got it all primered, you can take it to a shop for painting, or try it yourself. If I had to guess, they'd probably charge you a couple of hundred to do it for you.
