hi all i searched and found nothing on it although this is pretty self explanatory and common mod i thought id post it the way i do it with some recommendations on the type/brand/grade of grip tapes. maybe someone might find it useful. if not into the depths of the forum it will go. some might be concerned that the griptape ruins shoes(as i read on a post here). well its grip tape its for doing tricks on skateboards which as a former skater i will say i have gone through countless shoes back when i use to skate, but that was doing tricks not pushing pedals.

ok first off here is what you will need
scissors, screwdriver or similar tool, razorblade, and of course griptape.

next you'll want to remove the rubber pads from the pedals. the clutch and brake just wrap around the pedals so they are an easy removal. the gas is a bit different but equally easy. for the gas pedal just pop out the top of the rubber from the top of the pedal then rotate 90 degrees and remove it. sorry i didnt photo them actually being taken off. the brakes a little beat but they are fine.

next you'll cut the grip tape into the proper sizes for each pedal as the grip tape comes in a big sheet for a skateboard. i already did the clutch pedal but there will be two of the smaller pieces and the one big one for the gas pedal

next you'll just stick the cut tape after removing the backing from it to the pedal

next you'll take the screwdriver and scratch out the outline of the pedal like so making an outline of the pedal.

next use the razor blade to cut out along the white outline like so

its the same process for all 3 pedals and this is the end result

so basically its the same process you do when putting grip tape on the skateboard decks.

now as for the grip tape itself if you want the best/most grip i recommend BLACK MAGIC grip tape as it is a bigger grain tape. for the least grip and shoe damage i recommend MOB. the grain on mob is not as extreme as black magic so its easier on your shoes. there are a lot of new grip tapes out now that i haven't used so i can't say anything on them, but from what i used blackmagic has the most grip, mob has the least. theres also pig grip tape thats in between mob and the black magic.

Overall this "mod" should only take a whopping 5-10 minutes and is incredibly easy so its completely doable for anyone. as for what i used, i used black magic.
