glovebox repair...
 

So the little latch inside my glovebox has come loose, this is on a 3rd gen. The screw that held this latch on has come off, i'm guessing due to vibrations, but whatever, My main problem is just how to seperate the 2 layers of the glovebox, are they glued together or is there some better way to get the 2 layers apart, as of now i'm sort of baffled in the process of taking it apart, Thanks.

nevermind i got it figured out, they want you to have to buy a new glovebox so the use platic welds and stuff like that, But i'm going to do it a little cheeper way and use some glue+labor. :icon_tup:

Let me know what you end up doing. I have the same problem and took my glovebox off, which looks a little unfinished, but is better than the door staying wide open and rattling and moving around while driving

Alright, I'll put up what I did for a fix later today, because i really gtg to sleep...

So what I did was I seperated the 2 halves of the glovebox, they are held together by plastic welds, so you basically have to seperate them by force near the plastic welds. I didn't seperate the 2 halves all the way because I wanted to keep the glovebox as strong as possible (keep as many of the plastic welds intact as possible for structural strength). After that there is one screw holding the latch on, If you don't seperate the glovebox completely your going to need an angles phillips screwdriver;once you get it seperated you'll understand, what kind of angle you need. Then after I tightened up that screw, I glued it so I wouldn't have to deal with it agian. Then I used a strong adhesive in the place of all the plactic welds, tada!

P.S. If you don't use this method to fix somthing as simple as the latch you basically have to buy a whole new glovebox. :(
