getting tired of your "dated" 2ed gen interior

well i kinda am, ive been drawing for a bit and have came up with a few basic ideas, but i still wish to see what others think if i make more than 1 dash/ door panel replacements.

so tell me

-what you wish was there
-upholstery choices
-things to leave out

this is all strict speculation as of now, i only have drawings and ideas and about 3 usless usdm and 1 jdm dash assemblies to tinker with.

so i dont get flamed, you should know im not trying to stray from the classic appeal of the 2ed gen, and i understand with major design changes the a/c - heat ducts must be relocated. a quality finished product will take much effort and patients in order to offer them for sale.

my ideas come from 2 sources and i wish to blend them together to liven up the FC interior with a new age kick and high end appeal. gauge mounts made to fit so there is no need for pillar pods, updated air vents, new upholstery materials, new better than OEM quality window switches, updated interior cabin lighting, larger interior storage bins. i may even be so bold as to integrate a cup holder.

to me those pics are to current gotta keep it simple or the price will go though the roof and we all know us fc owners are cheap. some door panels would be nice if you could fiberglass some 6.5 speakers in it of course a slightly new design pattern on the door wouldn't be bad but the more complicated it is the price rises. but i would say for the dash keep it simple no crazy change needed. a new instrument cluster would be a good idea plus maybe fiberglass/carbon fiber interior trim would be nice.

I like our interiors because of how the gauges look at night, the big tach in the middle, the way your hand naturally lands on the shifter when you sit inside. The idiot cluster was a cool idea to keep the gauge cluster nice and simple. Really the only part that I hate is how ugly the bigass knobs for the headlight and wiper switches are and the entire gauge cluster surround and the way its mounted. Also because its cheap ass plastic they're easy to break and hard to maintain even if in good condition. My friend's 300ZX is only a couple years newer than my car and it looks and feels like new, Mazda really cheaped out on the interior of the FC. Exactly why I prefer to drive my car at night more than daytime lol.

ive drawn up a few concepts for all new switches made from aluminum that i can have machined, i have to be honest this kit should i produce more than 1 will not be on the cheap side. but it will change everything about the inside of the fc.

im going to start on a less drastic concept should people actually wanna buy anything

well you could always design it in "pieces" so if some likes a particular part of it then they could use just that part.
