Flush mount headlights. Who makes them and where to get them?
 

I was looking for a flush mount headlight kit with the glass covers, like in the picture below, but I have yet to come across any other then the RE headlight kit which is over $1k! :eek: ...i just cant justify that much for headlights.

Does anyone make a similar kit that is affordable?
Where could i find a decent set?
Any input is appreciated!

The Evo-R lights are what you are looking for, I have them and the light output is awful, the fitment is better than most kits, but still not perfect.

If you can wait, I'd definitely wait for Dan to finish his kit (David posted the link above), and if you wait for that and then don't decide to get it (assuming he finishes it), you can have my evo-r's for dirt cheap haha.

If you get our 90mm lights like the one show on your first pic, the light source is very good. Cuz it is driving lights not foglights like our 60mm projector version. 90MM light is E11 marked aprroved for EURO legal standard.

I have seen the quality of this kit in person and unfortunately it leaves a lot to be desired. Not up to my standards for sure but I am also more anal than most.

The 90mm units you sell might be marked Euro legal standard but they are not legal here in the US. To be legal, you have to use approved headlight modules like those from Hella. Once you take a light like you are using and install it in a different kit like what you have done, it is now not legal unless you pay the $100K+ to have it tested. Second, compared to a Hella headlight projector module like what is going into Dan's setup, there will be no comparison, period. His lighting will be vastly superior to what you are selling and your units will splash light all over the road. Proper projectors are the way to go if you want the best light source with sharp cutoff.

And the HIDs are only in 8000 and 10,000K? That will drastically reduce the effectiveness of the light output. Needs to be 5,500K or below like the OEM ones.

No problem. I'm just saying our 90MM light source is alot better than 60mm projectors. Not sure how 90mm compares to other lights. Reason we use these lights is cuz they are not too deep so you don't have to cut your frame. Like RE amemeya uses IPF lights you need to cut your frame to fit. By looking at Hella's light deep it will not fit any sleek headlight kit. Maybe if re-design the pod differently might work. I do offer other HID light output upon request at no extra charge. 8000K and 10000K is what I have in stock. Our unit is for people who like the RE look and no need to cut the frame.

Im not too concerned with legalities but that is good info to know. Im still interested in a pair if anyone has some they are looking to get rid of???

How would one go about making their own set of lights?
The actual lights and fiber glass bucket to hold the lights is fairly straight forward but what about the glass cover like in the above picture?

these have never looked good to me, love the stealth look of the flip up lights when they're down. the "on" position of flip up lights looks dated and crappy but not as bad as flush lights look

they look great, but for some reason I still like the stock ones better...
