how far do they stick out from the side of the car? when i get out of my car i usually step out right next to the car so i don't want to step on them and break them somehow.

You will be fine, I wear size 13 shoe and my feet dont come close to them. In the 4 years I have had mine I have never stepped on them.

^^ +1 I've had mine for 2 years, I installed mine to go with the flow of the car. IMO it looks weird if its installed more out..

interesting thread.. cuz my friend has splitters on the front and i question if anyone steps on them and thought about these skirts and wondered the same.....
