FD Odometer

Hey guys,

Two days after receiving my FD (47k miles), my odometer went out. Tried the battery trick to no avail. The speedometer still works. I'm trying to weigh my options of what to do. Should I pull the cluster and send it to DNA in Tampa, or should I just go ahead and buy one in good condition and send to DNA to adjust mileage and then swap it in (I've been tracking my mileage via my GPS trip recorder)? I have been told fixing the original cluster that started having issues isn't worth it as many times the board itself gets damaged from leaked capacitors.

Also, ironically enough I did not get a chance to do my NYS inspection before the odometer went out. So I'm also worried about going in for an inspection that will blemish the car's Carfax record since no mileage will be recorded. Given that this is such a clean and low mileage car, I obviously want to avoid this at all costs.

Any advice is much appreciated

read through this thread, it is typically a capacitor issue: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...ometer-599220/

Definitely get it repaired before your inspection. You can try doing it yourself, but it takes a few times to master and do it correctly if you don't have very much soldering experience. I've repaired several of them now and have had good results. Make sure you take your time pulling your gauge cluster. The gauge hood breaks easily.

Came back on after the car got serviced. Im guessing from disconnecting the battery. DNA in Tampa suggested to try that prior to pulling the cluster.
