waiting to start a prototype kinda hard without a car with an engine in it. But it should happen soon due to a good friend on mine. So ill let you guys know as soon as i start this.

Yeah, it a thermal insulator, so your intake charge should be that much hotter.

I have one of those carbon fiber engine covers for sale if anyone is intersted along with some other carbon fiber wrapped items. if anyone has any interest let me know.

update everyone i started fiberglassing the copy today. its starting to take shape just its gonna need some work with a lot of sanding/trimming ill post pics of the finished fiber copy before i go anywere ealse with it.

I would cut where the red line is, and I would fill in where the red circles are. I dont like what they did with the UIM with the cutout, I want something more along the lines of the PanSpeed one posted earlier. If I can get my hands on a PanSpeed one I would just replicate that, if not I can get a KS one, do my modifications and then reproduce that. Here is what I am talking about:

no, it does not serve any other purpose other than visual appeal. I think someone said this earlier in the thread.

personally i think they look cheap and hold in more heat. i just like seeing the guts of what makes our cars go, and u can really see how much effort someone has put into their car rather then just covering it up. might as well leave the hood closed.

HOWEVER
If someone were to make a cabon fiber cover that wrapped around the engine, separating the engine bay heat from the ABS and master cylinder. I would have to consider buying in!
