i have Beneventos 16 piece overlay kit from Cork Sport and im not too pleased with it. if i could do it over again, id save the money, and get my dash wrapped in suede or alcantra or have it painted flat black. it fits well, its just become too ricer boy for the build.

EDIT: here are some links to the kit i have from Benevento

this is Mark Koch's website before he closed down. He did some of the best CF overlay's that wasn't the cheap looking stickers. If you click on his "past projects" section you can see the dash and stuff he did for my car.

The best part of his work was glass smooth clear coat that he put on. After the recent attempt of another vendor trying this project, I appreciate even more the work that he did.

The thing I liked about Mark was he took pride in his work

If I had the choice again I don't think I would do the CF. It looks great but is high maintenance. I always worry about the CF de-laminating from the underlying plastic.

As you can see from the center console, it started to de-lam. I told Mark about it and shipped it back and he fixed it for free. He even took time to align the pattern again so it would match to the radio/HVAC portion of the console!

I just wish those overlays covered the entire peices. I love the mazdaspeed CF interior pieces but they are only for RHD

7racer 09-22-07 09:01 PM

dmoney,

are you talking about mine or the stickers? the CF pieces I have cover the whole piece.

I wish mark was still doing his work.

DMoneyRX-7 09-22-07 09:11 PM

oh I like the way yours (7racer) look. I just don't like how glossy they are. I don't like how Zum's don't cover the entire pieces but I do like how dry (not glossy) they look. If someone made some overlays like the ones Zum has but covered the entire piece (like mazdaspeeds are) then they would be perfect

7racer 09-22-07 09:16 PM

yep some people didn't like the full shine. mark started doing a matte look later. In truth, the gloss gets a little dull over time. To keep the shine you have to treat it like a clear coat for a car and use car polish to keep it looking brand new.

any of these kits are complete stick on glue on rice crap if you want carbon fiber the only way to do it is to completely remove all the parts send them out to get professionally overlayed in real carbon fiber. that other stuff just looks too tacky

Twinnos 09-23-07 03:01 PM

thanks for the pics. it looks pretty decent to me. anyway i need to get some carbon for the interior and since many vendors arent doing it i have to go with whats out there. does anyone know places or companies that will do it? thanks

Herblenny 09-23-07 06:50 PM

Just make sure you don't get your shit done by some dumbass in Colorado called Jason Evans aka Sonix7.

There is a long thread about this ass on the Good guy bad Guy.

Brent Dalton 09-23-07 06:57 PM

7racer, I love how your pieces look. That is exactly what I have been wanting for a while now. I just wish someone still did this.

Edit: I was just about to say something about that Phil. I wish that would have turned out. If it would have been quality work, our interiors would look soooo much better.

Had mine wrapped a couple of years ago, still looks brand new. Check out (MY FD BUILD) thread in the n.w. section for more pics.

Here's some different pics. I'm glad I had this done when I did, because the shop I went thru is out of business. Try contacting Shine Auto Project or Areofiber to see if they'll wrap your pieces. I have their side skirts, hood, spoiler, and canards in carbon fiber and the quality matches the job done on my interior. If you want more pics and info check out my thread in the N.W. section. There are so many different types of carbon fiber out there, kevlar, different weaves and almost any color you want. If you have a tan interior, the yellow/black kevlar would be my choice. Also check out Evo-R, they sell nice stuff, I might pick up their triangles, handles and a bumper heat shield. Seibon also makes hatches, hoods an doors in c.f. Just look around, more and more people are doing this type of work.
