FC audio question

I am looking to replace my speakers in my 1990 GTUs. It only came from the factory with the four speaker setup. The two in the rear, and the two below the dash. Im not a huge car audio expert, so I was wondering if someone could recommend me some speakers to put in. Please let me know. I searched but couldnt find much.

Thanks

im sorry but sony sucks ass when it comes to car audio. i prefer on the high end MB Quart then in the middle range Polk, then Pioneer

Here's my stereo setup:

Kenwood eXcelon CD/MP3 head unit

Infinity Kappa 102a (100W x 2)
Infinity Referrence 5.25" fronts

Infinity Kappa 102a (100W x 2)
Infinity Kappa Component 6.5" rears

Infinity Kappa 202a (200W x 2)
(2) Infinity 1020W 10" subs

The stereo sounds absolutely awesome.....crisp highs and mids, exceptionally clean lows.

I highly recommend Infinity car audio products......they are a great investment for the price. You can grab Infinity speakers on Ebay for $60-90 a pair, NIB.

Replace the fronts and rears with a matched set and you will notice a huge difference in the sounds quality.

The speakers under the dash are 4" and I'm not sure what size your rear speakers are. They could be 4", 5 1/4", or 6 1/2". You'll have to remove the speaker cover to see what size you have. A trip to Best Buy, Circuit City, Goodguys or any other store where car audio is sold would be your best bet. Go in there and listen to the speakers on display. Find some you like and go from there. Any of these will be fine unless you're looking for higher end stuff ($$$).

Rears are 6 1/2.

Around the range of $300 total for the 4 speakers (I don't want to cut any holes) What would give me the best sound quality. I'm already spending $200 for a head unit and $100 for an iPod adapter, so NO MORE THAN $300 for speakers....I'm a poor mofo.

if you have a head unit with a aux in port you can get $5 work of cabling from radioshack to connect it to your ipod and not spend $100...

just make sure you get one with the right connectors. usually male mini-stereo plugs on each end.

The GTUs was the lightweight/performance model so it may have 4" speakers back there. It may also have 6 1/2" or 5 1/4" speakers. We wont know until CodyHokieFD looks back there and lets us know what size they are.
