Factory security system
 

i recently purchased an aftermarket alarm system and had it installed everything works fine wen i press the lock button on the pager to arm the alarm but when its time to disarm the alarm and unlock it, it unlocks but then the factory alarm system starts to go off as soon as i unlock it, how can i go about fixing this problem or how can i disconnect the factory alarm? thanks.

there's a green/white (I think) wire that goes to the key. When the key is not turned, this wire carries a small voltage telling the ecu that the key is not turned. When you do turn the key, the mechanism momentarily grounds this wire to tell the ecu to disable the alarm. Depending on your aftermarket alarm kit, there should be a "send ground pulse" wire or something like that that you will need to tap into this wire in order to disable the alarm from the ecu.

My particular keyless entry unit was incredibly cheap and did not have this provision (It had lock, and unlock, that's it). So I bought a latching relay that would connect the green/white wire to ground whenever i hit unlock, and disconnect it whenever I hit lock.

Ground the hood pin sensor to the stock alarm. This tells the CPU that the hood is open all the time and will not allow the system to be armed.

You can keep the stock alarm also just position the actuator to push/pull the key rod and it will trip the switch.

your actuator probably is connected to the interior lock/unlock switch so take the door panel off and switch the rod to the key rod and this should solve your problems.

thanks guys good suggestions but i would like to just discconect the stock alarm anyone have any clue?
