Does the FEED hood work?

How does it effect temps?

noone?

Think about it. You're allowing more airflow into and out of the engine bay. That's going to do something to the underhood temps, which would effect intake temperatures and reduce heat soak. However, it has little direct cooling effect on the internal engine temperatures like a radiator would (or anything dealing with the actual cooling system).

i was trying to compare it to a mazdaspeed type hood (vents right behind the radiator) and the scoot hood(inlet vent). i love the look of the feed but want to make sure the vents serve a purpose other than looks.

I would suppose so for temps go. Now how would it affect tha high pressure area under tha hood?

I would think it works better at high speeds, but for V-mount set ups, this hood does nothing compared to a mazdaspeed hood

The vents are over the heat source, cooler air is entering from below and we all know heated air rises. Now throw in some pressure from the front while moving and some vacuum as air travels over the hood and voila- now it has somewhere to escape. Even a V-mount would benefit. I bought one from Shine and the fitment is great. I would figure that an exprienced Japanese tuning shop such as Fujita Eng. has done their testing and wouldn't just sell a cool looking hood that didn't out perform the oem design.- Matt

The OEM design has.. well, no holes whatsoever, so in your deduction that a hole is better than none is correct.

Now, lets try putting those holes over the center front section of the hood, and you have what? a nice section for air to exit right above the v-mount. In this case, vents are NOT over the heat source. They are behind them.

Fujita Engineering's FD's don't have V-mount setups. I'm glad your Shine hood has good fitment, but that has nothing to do with cooling capacity or efficiency for different setups.

The Scoot style hoods have been notorious for creating vacuums and preventing hot air from exiting the engine bay, despite its numerous holes and promising looks.

But yeah, they're better than stock.

lets see some pics of yours, i always thought they looked good.
