Does ANYONE make a nice e-brake handle.....

Good god this wouldn't seem like a hard thing to find but I cannot find any after market e-brake handles along with a nicely finished release button...I had to take my OEM one off and as you probably know it's glued on and has to basically be cut off (destroyed) to get it off...anyway anyone out know where to look?....Something nice befitting an FD..

cheers

Haha, might need to do a little modeling in solid works I think. Any body in the market for matching polished or coated aluminum shift knob & brake handle? Most likely won't be real cheap (short production run), but can be done.

Try the mazdaspeed website. They make a really nice e brake handle that goes for the Miata but looks like it'll fit for the fc/fd

I've got the MazdaSpeed titanium shift knob + ebrake handle and I think it's awesome

I bought a voodoo e-brake handle a while back and have been very happy with it. I wanted something simple and it fit very well.

Here is a working pic. I went with the brushed aluminum look with mine.

I like the original much better. The only e-brake that might look better/more fitting would be the Japanese version w/ red stitches to match my black/red interior :)

looks better then the fc one!

Do you know if your Mazdaspeed carbon fiber ebrake handle is the same one as is listed for use on the Miata (on Japanparts.com) or did you find it listed as an RX-7 part? (Part #183-005-004)

Mybaby 11-19-07 11:15 AM

I got the ebrake handle about 1 1/2 yrs. ago. Back then for for the FD/RX-7 in the section labeled interior under the Mazdaspeed parts was the CF shifter and ebrake. I am not seeing either now. They must be discontinued. Looks like they still offer the titanium stuff.
I wouldn't go with anything for a miata unless you know specifically that it will fit properly.
Remeber with most aftermarket handle your going to have to rip off the OEM handle. So be prepared to sacrifice your OEM look.
Good luck finding it.

use a heat gun when u remove the factory handle and u can slide it off. takes a little elbow grease but it will come. keep heatin it. then u can reuse it down the road if u choose

B_Hydra 11-19-07 01:22 PM

@Mybaby

I'm okay with losing the OEM look if the pieces are nice -- my OEM parts are a bit worn.

@smitter113fd

I'll keep that in mind when I find a nice e-brake replacement...
