Do Not Buy A Ebay Cf Hood From Carbon Innovations

**Posted in 3rd gen forums as well**

They are some sheisty ass mo-fo's

I bought a hood from them awhile back that had a defect in it that made it impossible to correctly fit the hood.. and after emailing them back and forth with pic, they refused to replace it.

As you can see the latch on the hood is slightly skewed towards the passenger side, making the enitre hood shift to the drivers side.

The kicker is that I left them neutral feedback, saying that the shipping was a bit expensive and the hood was defective, but all in all i was okay with the transaction. Then these asshats leave me negative feedback saying that i never paid for the hood, which is crazy because they wont even ship a hood unless they can confirm payment. (not to mention I have confirmed a confirmed paypal page which proves I payed)
Its just thier way of making people leave them positive feedback. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not buy any products from these dicks in the future.

This deserves a bump. shitty vendors piss me off...

On the flip side you can just cut off that latch and use hood pins as an alternative, however it's still not what you originally paid for but it's just a suggestion

adjust your hood latching mechanism...

Skeltah 07-22-05 01:51 PM

Bump.. just got off of the phone with them and they still wont do anything.

Sucks that they shafted you like that. However, can you remove the hood latch and just run with hood pins?

Skeltah 07-22-05 03:51 PM

I guess i could do that.. But then i would have to run two sets of hood pins (one to hold down the buldge behind the headlights) which imho is ugly as sin. And its frustrating to buy something only to have it turn into a POS

I thought about that.. But it doesnt seem to have enough play to fully correct the problem. That is unless you know of a way to give the latch about a 1/4 inch of movement.

how much did you pay for this hood?

I'm sorry but this an easy fix...

I bought a hood a while back from them for my old turbo hatch. In the auction it said 4 items left. I called them and they said it was on back order. I received the hood 2 months later. I was really dissapointed with having to wait that long, but they refunded me 30.00 bucks for having to wait. All in all I have neutral feelings. If you ever buy from them make sure they have what you want in stock before using buy it now on ebay.

Remove the latch mechanism and enlarge the holes with a drummel tool.

KaiFD3S 07-23-05 04:52 PM

can you hammer it straight?

Chaosx1 07-23-05 05:03 PM

How about cutting it off and rewelding it on properly? Would that work?
