Center console button/indicator molds
I'm wondering if anyone has the ability to make the folloiwng piece...
http://railgun69.homeip.net/Overtemp.jpg This is the sanded down version of the exhaust overtemp indicator. What I'd ultimately like to do is get a version of this in either a different color (other than amber of course) such as blue or a translucent white. I'm just looking to change things up a bit on the interior. Additionally, does anyone have any recommendations on the type of paint to use for remarking the button. I'd imagine a modeling paint would suffice, but I'm not certain how durable it is. I'm looking to update the interior a little while keeping the stock look. Additionally, since I'm using the PFC, obviously this doesn't indicate any temp issues anymore, so I'd like to rebadge it to something more appropriate. I'm going to polish the above piece and install as is. If I think it looks too tacky, my goal will be to black out the face again, but throw a rotary flair into it, similar to the rotary accents throughout the 8. Any thoughts? Thanks! Chrisitan |
If somebody could make this in blue, I'd definitely be interested as well. It wouldn't have the eye-catching warning color as it was intended to have but it would definitely match my interior.

I don't know of anyone/place that would do this over but, seeing that you're trying out some things..Try some blue transparent paint. You can find this at your local hobby shop, made by Tesla.

go to michaels or w/e local craft store you have. they sell stained glass paint in lots of colors. it is clear colored pait in a spray can or in a bottle.

Unfortunately painting something red some other color is only going to make it look like ass.

you could try making it yourself, check out this page --> http://www.reynoldsam.com/index.htm
I think a starter kit is only $25 and that would probably be more than enough to figure out to replicate that button in another color |
Interesting...I'll check it out. Thanks!
