Car Stereo Technology Question

I am looking for a car stereo with an aux input jack that will automatically switch to the signal coming over the jack - when a signal is available.

When there is no signal, the stereo will play whatever is producing the internal signal (Radio, CD, Cassette).

Does anyone know of a stereo that has such technology?

yeah the technology consists of your finger pushing a source button. then pushing it again to switch back. sorry to be a smart-ass but it the way i am. ok on a serious note what are you trying to accoplish with this.

What "YellowUFO" said. With the source units out today, whatever you plug into the AUX input, you'll access using the source button.

Thanks,

I have found an auto switch that will need to be installed between the head unit and the speakers. So, I guess that will have to do.

I'm thinking not. It looks like that would switch inputs at an external amplifier, not INTO your headunit's amp.

Another thing you might want to consider is that some auxilary devices still output a voltage even if they aren't outputting "music".

What is your application? In other words, why is this feature so important?

You are saying that this will NOT select a signal from two sources and then send the active or default signal to the speakers?
