burnout/cwest bumpers sit really low?
I really like the burnout and cwest kits but when I see them on cars with no side skirts it looks like there's a good 2, maybe 3 inches of drop compared to a stock bumper. I may end up going 99 spec with a painted lip.
Does anyone have either of the kits above and how much is your car lowered? Any issues with potholes or speed bumps? I want to do a 1.5 to 2 inch drop and don't know if I want to risk a bumper that sits this low... I might just go 99 spec to be safe... |

In my opinion, the Burnout does sit a little low.
Hopefully this will help: Burnout vs stock 99 with lip: Attachment 636491 http://the-lowdown.com/media/work-rx7/IMG_6294.jpg I had a burnout for like a blip on the radar but ultimately decided not to installed it. I just knew that I would damage it very quickly. So I ended up staying with my polyurethane 99 spec style for durability. And yeah I've hit it a couple of times lol... https://www.rx7club.com/members/mont...mona-45349.jpg |
Appreciate the pics and info. The higher bumper would be ideal. I've been looking around google images and saw the vis/duraflex v-speed kit. If this would line up with FEED skirts it would be the height I'm looking for, just would like more pics to see if I really like the style.

Anyone seen or ran this kit? |

Hmmm found another pic. Hope you don't mind, did a little side by side with your car so I could see the approximate height. How much of a dropis on your car?
There's only one car I can find with this kit installed though unfortunately. Attachment 545228 Attachment 545229 |
Guess I'll keep updating this thread with information I find.
Looks like the owner of the silver car is on here with the name of scrub. Duraflex and vis kits are knocks offs and the original kit is by vertex. Front bumper alone is an amazing $900....I didn't notice it was the same kit because the kit has/comes with bumper canards which changes the look. Here's a great side shot, bumper definitely sits higher than the burnout kit. Looks to be about on par with the 99+lip. http://www.vertex-usa.com/clubvertex...8/11/cwan3.jpg |

Honestly I don't know the drop in my car because I have coilovers. I just set the height and called it a day. Yes that's scrub's car. But you know you should be able to figure out the dimensions quite easily by comparing the bumper to a known value. In this case, it is the 18 inch wheels that both cars have :) |
The Burnout front sure looks nice n clean though. I wonder what it'd look like if the bottom inch and a half was shaved.
I'd LOVE to see someone rock a 15AE front. That's one I've never seen in person. https://www.rx7club.com/attachments/...dea-fd3s2e.jpg The rest of the kit is too over the top for me, but that front bumper... |
