Bride Vios3 Installed on Lowmax LF Rails

Hi Guys,

Finally received my bride lf rail and installed it on the fd. Seat i'm using is the VIOS3 LOWMAX, rail I'm using is the LF Lowmax rail for left side FD. The fitment is perfect. Rail is good quality, all hardware is included. The rail has the hole and hardware to adapt the oem seatbelt buckle if you need to. It gave me a couple of inches of headroom, althought not as much as I expected, it was enough for me to clear the roof with a helmet on. I'm 6'1", weights 180lb. It's alittle tight, but I'm in snug and fairly comfortable. This is the lowest rail/seat out there, it gives me enough leg room to install a 350mm steering wheel, steering input is much improved over the previos 320mm steering wheel. There is no rubbing on the door, but it has little clearance, so any wider than this will rub.

Now for the pictures.. btw plz don't lecture me about the 2" harness, it's temporary, I have a 5pt on order :)

Dang, looks nice man! How comfortable is the seat? Does it touch the center console at all? And how easy is it to access your rear bins?

How much was the seat?

$850 is the retail on the seat, $195 is the retail on the rail. It doesn't touch the center console. I ordered mine through www.phase2motortrend.com, they are awesome.

Other than that pesky "Low Max" logo on the headrest, very, very nice. That's very good to hear about the rails and fitment of the seat. I will most likely be going with the Zeta III-S (for short people like myself), Exas III, or Artis III. Being only 5'7", I don't need the extra clearance.

How comfortable is the seat? Daily driver comfortable? How much more supportive is it than the stock seats? Did you weigh the seat?

Thanks. :)

The seat looks great. Finally, someone found and installed a pre-fabbed rail that fit well and didn't take months to get from japan. Great job. :bigthumb:

Seat is surprisingly comfortable, definitely comfortable for daily driving. I've heard that they have done research on ergonomics, the back is contoured for that reason. Being a full bucket seat it's alot more supportive than the stock seat. It's even better for someone who is shorter and smaller, my 5'5 friend sat in it and said it was perfect for him. I didn't weight the seat, but it's about the same as the sparco corsa i've had, maybe alittle lighter due to smaller size. Being a fiberglass seat, I think it's not a good idea to make it too light. Unfortunatley, it did took 1 month to get here from japan :( Phase2 was great though on getting me shipping status, tees usa was also helpful when I called them.

Well, at this point, 1 month isn't that bad. I know people here that have been wanting to get a racing seat in their car for some time now, but have been held back because they couldn't find a rail for it. Now atleast we know a place to buy them.

Nice seat!!! I don't know if I would fit in there though. I'm 5'11 and 200 lbs. Do you know some one with my messurement that you see how confy we would be? I'm at 36 waist.

EDIT: Actually you are not that far from Corona. My Mom lives on that area. May be we could meet up one day when I move there in Oct adn I could see it for myself.

Thanks. I checked there but they don't tell what unit of measurement they're using. I'm guessing its in centimeters? Does anyone know the dimeions in inches? I want to compare these seats with other seats to see how well other seats will fit.

Alpine 07-30-05 02:08 PM

It's in mm.

artowar 07-30-05 09:47 PM

25.4 mm = 1 inch

Chaosx1 07-31-05 12:45 AM

Thanks. :bigthumb: I'm not good with math. :(
