Bad Fender Roll...
 

Hi. I have recently I have gotten the rear fenders rolled on my FD. Now, I am not satisfied with the job :( ... one side came out nice, but the other side wasn't nice at all. It flared a bit more then the passenger side and it looks a bit awkward (mind you most people don't notice but I do). The side of the car (over the fender) pulled out a little. Now, my question is; how can I get the side of the back to it's normal round shape? Should I undo the roll? I have not ran into an issue like this before.. and I kinda want the shape of the car to look like it did before. What are my options?

Body shop, hammer and bondo.

Go back to stock -why did you screw with perfection.

Yeah... I know.. Thought about it for a while. Now I regret lol. But I'm wondering if unrolling the fenders will flex the metal back to it's original shape..?

It will be hard to return it back to original shape, unrolling it won't help.

You could cut some flairs off a Porsche, and weld/bond over the situation like a friend of mine has done.

Agreed, unrolling won't help. It'll be hard to unroll it back to how it originally looked.

I feel for you. I contemplated rolling mine but 20 year old stock paint and chance something could go wrong wasn't appealing to me. I'm not going to make huge power so 255's are fine as far as rubber on the ground although 285's sure look cool. I ended up doing 18x8.5/9.5 with 235/255 lowered with top of arches at 25" and I've rubbed once doing about 125-135mph on a little dip on a backroad. I hope you figure something out!

It's amazing how "rolling" the fenders gets interpreted so much. Originially, it should really be JUST the inner lip of the fender getting rolled up so it doesn't hit the tire. However, many shops interpret that as pulling the fender out or using a roller, to widen the factory fenders. And of course some shops think of both.

The EXACT same thing happened to me. I wanted the lips rolled, but no modification of the stock lines. I was assured..... and now I have a widebody...lol. The rear fenders were seriously pulled out. If it didn't look so nice, I would have been upset.

My advice, is to go back to the shop, and have them at least make the fenders even. Then enjoy the width and put some wider wheels on there.... We always need the traction. I am going from 10" wide, to 11's... 315's... ;)
