Anyone used an Enclosed Sub in an FC?

I was thinking something along the lines of these:Boss BASS1200 10" 1200W Low Profile Amplified Car Subwoofer w Sub Level Control 791489109802 | eBay
anyone have any experience with them?
Maybe mount them in where the bins are or in front of the bin..between the bin and the rear of the seat?
I just don't want 12 inch subs and a box flopping around in the back of the FC.
I am also considering another option of 6 inch subs for the rear shock towers, instead of a full range, and running 6x9 in the bins...sound ok?
Thanks guys.STYX!~

I havent messed with the BOSS brand in almost two decades. It was a cheap line, with lifetime warranty; and good thing they did, cause they didnt last as long as higher end amps. Then there is the quality and actual watts that you get out of the amp. If you are installing the amp by itself, then yes, the bin location works; subs are a whole different story...

Subs in the bins will require extensive fabrication, is not as easy as slaping the subs in there and calling it a day. For the FC (or any other sport car), I highly recommend SAS Bazooka. Their 8 inch bazooka used to provide a solid punch, where the 10 inch had a deeper/loower sound (freq). The 8 inch woofer was pretty solid, the 10 inch one used to burn pretty quick. The 6 inch series is useless, and dont have any experience with the 12 inch series.

You can (and thats what I recommend) run 6 inch woofers on the rear towers, but the inted is to use them as "rear fill" and not as a base feature. Avoid the 6X9 or any other offset type of speaker; stick to dedicated speakers, like woofers, mid bass, mid ranges, and tweeters.

Hope this helps :icon_tup:

My Turbo Fc has 6x9's in the bins,6 inch in the strut towers(rear) and 4 inch and 5x7 in the dash(each side!) up front.
The sound quality isn't bad but lacks some Lower "umph".
I am not exactly young anymore but I like it Loud..WHAT???.I Said LOUD!..so Metallica and Montrose cranked.I like guitar solos that rip your flesh when played!
The BOSS brand was just an example of the type of Enclosed Sub unit I was thinking of.Being able to just mount that on the Bin Lid or there-abouts.

You have quite an array of speakers, are you looking for a higher sound volume, or you just want to add bass?

Sounding kind of Tinny.
I guess ya,just to add some Lo to it.
I mean I like Metal, But I don't want it to sound like they are playing IN the Can!
I hoped that the Audio system could be Detachable/removable,but I am debating that.(track weight reduction).
....and then again I got 2 cars..one is TII and the Other N/A..so I got choices.

Got you!

As you already know, amps are not easy to detach (I mean they are, but its not convenient). I stand by my words, and will recommend you try a SAS Bazooka. They are not that heavy, fairly easy to conceal (when compared to a box), and super easy to remove.

Do not try the powered bazooka, their amps suck (or used to at least).
