Anyone painted their seatbelts before?

Hey,

Just wondering if this is a stupid idea or not? Would it be possible to paint seatbelts? I'm talking about both the plastic pieces and the actual seat belts.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You could probably have to belts dyed, and get some sort of vinyl/plastic paint for the clips.

I wouldn't reccomend it though unless you going for some exotic color scheme and can't work with black or tan.

well if you do paint it, you must post pics.

I was honestly just wondering. I didn't think it was the greatest idea either, but I'm trying to figure out what type of harnesses to purchase and the color schemes aren't the best.

I'll keep looking.

R_PROWESS 11-27-06 09:18 PM

do you have a pic of them?

ive used the vinal spray from kregan on my friends 240sx seats and it worked, it didnt flake off or any thing but the seats did feel crisp for the first day or two...

Sprockett 11-28-06 03:53 AM

Just buy real harnesses.

str8ryd 11-28-06 11:27 AM

I am buying "real" harnesses, but I don't like any of the paint schemes. Hence my reason for asking this question in the first place.

1revn3rdGen= Could you PLEASe post up some pictures of your seatbelts. Thanks!

1revn3rdgen 11-29-06 10:34 PM

I dont have any pics.I will try to get some but they're on my brothers car(seatbelts).

what're the differences between motorsports and street belts?

other than the ~$200

Dorifto_PG 11-30-06 12:18 PM

Its down on the bottom there...

Teamtech makes harnesses for Formula open wheel cars, etc... The Motorsports belts have sternum plate/pads pelvic plate/pad, all the goodies that come with super high end harnesses. However, if you are in a closed cockpit car, usually these are overkill and a simple 3inch 5-point system will definitely suffice. Those belts if i'm not mistaken are made for the body's position when its in an open wheel car (more reclined, raised footbox).

If i get some pics i will post then up.
