aftermarket head unit to Bose speakers
guys i bought a aftermarket stereo head unit and i want to connect it to my Bose speakers/amp
do i need a special harness to use the Bose speakers? any other useful info would be great! thanks Mikey D |
have you tried a search on the exterior/interior/audio section?
I know for a fact that thre are tons of threads regarding this issue. The problem is that bose speakers are 1 ohm impedance and the bose head unit is passive. Therefore each speaker has an amplifier. I personally connected in my FD aftermarket speakers and stereo with the bose "snake". All I had to do is buy an attenuator for the snake to de-amplify the signal going into it. Kinda simulating a passive signal. Hope this helps. But like I said, there a many threads that would answer your question specifically. lates- |
I did the same thing, it required the purchase of a scosche signal adapter from crutchfiel.com, and instructions on which wires went where. I also had to call up the help line because one of the wires was not shown on the diagram they sent. It has been a year and a half since then, and the head unit works fine, controls the antenna perfectly, and I can adjust each of the four channels independently with the adapter, for power (volume) that is. what head unit is prefer?

Good headunits out there I would say go with pioneer of alpine. I have a pioneer in my FD and it still works great and never had a problem with it yet.
