"99 Spec Tail Light Conversion"

Do you want your FD to have the 99 spec tail lights? I've done my own and a couple of friends tail lights and they've come out spectacular. I also got a buddy that has the genuine 99 lights on his FD, and you can't tell the difference. Now he wished he didn't waste $500.
If you want them you've got to send me your stock tail lights w/ a $100 money order. It only takes 2 days to be reassembled and sent back to you via: U.P.S.

45 bucks, 3 hours, and this link: http://mysite.directlink.net/jott/rx...ts/default.htm =99 spec back lights:D

or if your lazy, send em to CPunla for only $100, still a great deal!

1FAST7 08-29-01 03:25 PM

why not for $65 and send it to this one guy(i forgot his name) and get it done without spending $100 with you and spending 3hours when you could mess up. The $65 is a done deal. He has done soo many and is obviously a professional at it.

right on! you know, that one guy?

CPunla 08-29-01 05:11 PM

Your talking about the guy over the rainbow, right? You pay for what you get. Nobody brings their Rx7 to a local Pep Boys for a rebuild because they're $35 dollars cheaper.:asshole:

Heath 08-29-01 06:54 PM

I don't think he's being an asshole........there was a guy doing it for $65 and he has done a great deal of them at that price. They turn out VERY well from what I understand. I don't blame the guy for referring to a $35 discount.

His quote was an asshole remark. Obviously he continuosly talks alot of trash, so I won't follow up on his childish remarks.
This thread are for those that choose it. For those that don't, they can look somewhere else.

I say try doing it yourself, I did, and it turned out great. If you mess up, all you you have to do is use a paint remover like Easy Lift Off which will remove any painting errors or glue mishaps, without hurting the plastic. It's a pretty easy job, just be patient.

Viper jr 08-30-01 05:39 AM

The "other guy"s name is Ryan Wolfe. His username here is rx7even, and he charges $65. At last count (according to him), he's done 70 sets.

As has been said many times on this forums, you can pay someone to do it, or do it yourself and find out that its not really that bad.

Check out my how-to section for instructions and for alternatives to the standard conversion if you think you'd rather DIY.

CPunla: You might want to look in the mirror when calling people an asshole.

Why is this thread in tech support?

I find your friendship toward another hick admirable. Keep it real, stay honky.:blue:

Cpunla, just becuase someone does the taillight conversion $35 cheaper than you, you dont have to start being a loser. This Ryan guy has done tons of conversions and is pretty much an expert at it.

P.S. well, i guess you lost tons of buisness, thats ok.. right?

I'm amazed how you rookies spend alot of time on threads you don't belong in. But keep on posting, you won't be just an exhaust leak for long.

Stop flaming people.

I can't get my tail light off! I've removed the 3 screws for each tail light and the center brake light completely but the tail lights still won't come off!

Any tips? I think there are some light bulb assembly stuff that's holding the tail light in place. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Another hick? I sure hope your not referring to me.

Experience is worth a thousand words. I've done about 80 sets, youve done about 3 (thats what I get from you're post). Who's YOUR daddy?:D

Send me an email to rx7even@yahoo.com and I'll send you some directions on removing them to see if it helps (if you havent gotten them off already).

Only one person has less posts than you, and only by 12 posts. Guess you took lil vipers advice and started looking in the mirror before you started calling people names.

I hate pissing matches, but someone just had to comment on that one.

after you remove the screws, you have to slide the taillights out, away from the center piece. It will be really tight, but trust me, they come out.

Rx7 owners like lil viper and yourself are pee-ons. You should do homework on the people you talk about. The tail light service isn't a big deal, but you fags made it ugly.
Here's a hint, make comments on those that are slower than you (there's probably no one that meets that criteria). You rookies have problems just making your cars fast. You guys are making a big deal out of tail lights. Let's see you argue about a bridge port or BIG single turbo's. Hmmm. Nothing, to say on that subject? Didn't think so. -----LOSERS.-----

How about a bridgeported single turbo 13B? Built one. Ran 9's in the quarter at 26psi all day long. Think before you type, makes you seem smarter. All people did was state what was out there, you're the one that started insulting potential customers. You should do your homework in business, maybe you'll learn something that you can use next time. Dont forget, the pedal that makes you go is on the right. Good luck with that.

Felix Wankel: your supposd to read where this trash started. thats what moderators do. Not one post. All the posts.

By the way, I can say I built one or two cars myself. Although I'll probably be the only one between the two of us that still own's and races one (bridge ported FD -T88 Powered).
